Quick, easy and inexpensive Christmas decorations

As I promised, here are the things I did in order to have a more Christmasy home. I didn’t want to spend much money on decorations so I tried to use things I had around the house and bought the minimum that was necessary. The biggest investment was the Christmas tree, which is potted and I hope to donate it after the Christmas period. You’ll see many presents underneath the tree. This is because Dan and I are making small gifts until the 24th. It’s based on the advent calendar, but we made each present ourselves and they are usually food, things we need in the house – so small gifts. Because it’s just Dan and I we thought it’s a good idea to do this, to make it more fun and have more presents 🙂 The only thing I couldn’t show you in pictures is the white lights I hanged around the windows, for a more romantic ambiance. So here it is, hope you’ll enjoy it!

DIY: tea leaves in jars

autumn colours

If you wonder what I’ve done lately, the answer is: a lot! There were some busy, but rewarding days and now I’ve finally found some time to share with you my last DIY project: Tea leaves in jars. I know, it’s not a very big discovery… but I think it looks very nice and it’s a great way to keep it, for those who love to drink tea made of leaves. I prefer to buy leaf tea as it tastes good and I get to mix it every time. However, the original packaging is often simple and not very interesting. So here’s my simple, cheap and cute way of keeping my tea on the shelves 🙂 I’m not ready yet, I still need to fill some more jars, but I wanted to show you how it looks so far.

Daca va-ntrebati ce-am facut in ultima vreme, raspunsul e: multeee si marunte! In Romania gasiti frunze la magazinele naturiste, la farmacii, in supermarket – in multe locuri! De-aceea am ales sa-mi aranjez ceaiul in borcane. Inca n-am terminat, dar n-am avut rabdare: a trebuit sa va arat progresul pana acum!

DIY: The mirrored box

DIY: The Mirrored BoxYes, you’ve heard well! Another DIY! I’ve spent my Friday redecorating some of my things and ended up creating three beautiful boxes. Today I’m showing you one that I decorated with mirror pieces. I used it to put my nail polish in. What you need? A paper box (you decide the size), mirror pieces and glue. And Creativity! Here we go…

Vinerea asta mi-am redecorat putin lucrurile prin camera si-am facut trei cutiute dragute pentru a-mi pune in ele una alta.
DIY: The Mirrored BoxDIY the mirrored box         I bought the mirror from the Works shop (1 Pound 24 pieces). – find them here

Nu stiu unde s-ar putea gasi in Romania bucatele mici gata taiate. Poate Jysk? Magazinele chinezesti?

*Tip: In case you can’t find pieces of mirror: Use an old mirror from a make-up box that’s finished/you don’t use anymore and smash the pieces. The entire box will be covered in irregular sizes of pieces, which can be very interesting.
